Meet our team
We have brought together practitioners of physical and social sciences, guided by a vision of knowledge justice and collaboration with mana whenua and Mātauranga Māori.
Expanding on Kā Huru Manu's work, we highlight multifunctional futures of land and social-ecological systems in Aotearoa NZ, featuring insights from Māori scholars on meaningful and just adaptation.

Ritodhi Chakroborty
I am an educator, researcher and activist with a focus on critical, radical, and feminist studies of nature-society relationships and on rural/migrant masculinity in the Himalaya. My theoretical interests include critical environmental justice, critical/feminist studies of global environmental change, science and technology studies, critical development studies and youth studies from the majority world. My current research project explores the functional and emancipatory value of indigenous cartography in landscape redesign within Aotearoa and the politics of climate adaptation across the Himalaya. I actively pursue research that is boundary-crossing between natural and social sciences, drawing upon plural epistemologies and co-producing knowledge with indigenous and local communities.
